Running a marathon has always been one of those things that has been on my life ‘to do list’ so to have been offered the opportunity to run the London Marathon 2015 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association?is both thrilling and?humbling.

I am privileged to work with patients and their families who are living with this devastating disease and to be able to raise money?that will fund and support care and research is the least I can do to support the fight against MND.

  • MND is a fatal, rapidly progressive disease that affects the brain and spinal cord
  • It attacks the nerves that control movement; people can still think and feel, but their muscles refuse to work.
  • It can leave people locked in a failing body, unable to move, talk and eventually breathe.
  • It has no cure.

Over the next ten months as well as training in any weather that happens to be thrown at me, I will be organising fundraising events and your support with these would be fantastic, although?please feel free to donate as much as you like to this page!

Thank you for taking the time to read my page and for your support.

Love

Karen xx

Karen is seeking to raise ?3000 for The Motor Neurone Disease Association and to date has raised ?959.15 almost a third of the way to her target.

Please visit https://www.justgiving.com/Karen-Reed4/ to make a donation.

Karen ran a quiz night early in October, which was huge fun and raised funds which are included in the amount above.? A selection of photos is included below.

Calum’s hat was earned as a result of his table having the lowest score in the previous round.? Well done Calum for modelling it, we think some donations are due for this effort.

  1. Karen is coming into big training miles now with 14 miles next weekend (28 Feb) followed by 16, 18, 20, 22 and a half marathon race over the next 6 weeks and only 8 weeks to go!! Plus the two other training runs that she is doing during the week.

It’s hard work but well worth it for the end goal of completing the marathon and raising this money for such a great cause.

  2. Hi Karen well done for doing this MND is so horrible. To be able to know what is going on around you but unable to function ,,,, I cant for a minute begin to imagine how this must feel. I hope you reach your target and I will send something over with Karen and Paul as my donation xx
