South Coast Trip – Blog Day 14 St Austell

Today started off well with a great breakfast to get us on our way to St Austell for our first day in Cornwall.

We walked to the designated bus stop to find our bus did not leave from it…..short panic as we identified the correct stop which thankfully was only 100 yards away.

The journey was uneventful and we arrived in St Austell shortly after 1pm.? We had a quick lunch and set off for The Eden Project where we arrived sometime after 3 having waiting some time for a bus.20160616_163543

The Eden Project is a massive horticultural project inside a number of geodesic domes as well as large areas of fantastic external plantings.? It is to be thoroughly recommended as a place to visit but not for a short period of less than 3 hours.? There is much walking and varying levels.? There are land trains but these do not always run until closing time, so care is needed to check when they and connecting buses to car parks are running.20160616_163344

After a short visit we fell into conversation with a delightful Scottish couple down for a holiday who made a generous donation on the bus back to St Austell.

Thanks to MND Cornwall for arranging our visit to the Eden Project.
